Job Duties

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Final Inspector reports to the Director of Manufacturing and is responsible for all products/assemblies leaving the organization and trains all new employees and performs reoccurring training to current employees; operates in compliance with company safety practices and performs other duties as assigned. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Performs final inspections to ensure product meets specifications/customer standards.
  2. Performs first article inspections.
  3. Trains in process inspectors/receiving inspectors.
  4. Responsible for providing assemblers with all required training.
  5. Communicates quality related issues with customer on an as needed basis.
  6. Oversees day to day activities from a quality perspective.
  7. Create or revise operating procedures as required in KQMS documentation.
  8. Reviews all purchase orders for quality requirements.
  9. Responsible for all chemical and shelf life related materials.
  10. Responsible for getting and measuring tools and instruments along with fixtures calibrated.
  11. Writing corrective and preventative actions along with MDR’s and new procedures.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; three to five years related and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Language Skills: Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should have the ability to interact with and enter data into spreadsheet software.

Other Skills and Abilities:  Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team environment and self-direct work.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to sit; walk, talk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop or crouch.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
