Job Duties

The Aircraft Electrician installs, checks, repairs, overhauls, and rewires complete electrical systems and components on a variety of aircraft. Performs functional and operational checkouts of electrical instruments and flight systems upon aircraft arrival and prior to aircraft departure. This work must be performed competently, expeditiously, and in a timely manner to ensure on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The Aircraft Electrician is technically competent on assigned aircraft, and is expected to be able to accomplish the vast majority of his/her duties with minimal supervision. As customers are on-site at the facilities, professional appearance and communication skills are required in order to create a positive and lasting professional relationship.

 

Principle Duties:

  • Installs and rewires complete electrical systems and components on a variety of TFE and TPE powered aircraft.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and overhauls aircraft electrical systems and/or components.
  • Performs functional and operational "checkouts" of electrical instruments and flight systems upon aircraft arrival and prior to departure.
  • Maintains battery shop equipment and ensures that aircraft batteries are properly charged in a timely manner.
  • Maintains test cell electrical systems and makes repairs as needed (e.g. repair test harnesses, etc.) Updates technical manuals to include the latest wiring manual revisions.
  • Assists in installing various avionics systems on corporate aircraft.
  • Documents all work accomplished (sign-off) in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
  • Troubleshoot engine and APU problems.
  • Works overtime when necessary and travels to customer locations or other facilities as required.
  • Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, promoting and continuously improving company policies and procedures.
  • Observes all safety, environmental and general housekeeping rules and policies.
  • May perform other duties as required by the department.

Job Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years’ experience as an Aircraft Mechanic
  • Must read blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Must perform electrical wiring functions
  • Must have worked with aircraft wiring systems
  • A&P License preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

-walk long distances, bend, crawl, stretch, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs -work in extreme temperature and inclement weather conditions -work for long periods in tight spaces (i.e. squatting under aircraft wing, in cockpits, tail cones, etc).

-see in order to read diagrams and wire aircraft -manipulate very small and very large tools. Significant coordination and dexterity is required

Facility Description

This client facility provides full engine support services, including full MPI / CZI capability of all the Honeywell TFE731 turbofan engines, overhaul capability of the TPE331 turboprop engines, line service and a “minor” rating on the HTF7000 engines and full overhaul capability of the GTCP 36-150 series auxiliary power units (APUs). In addition, this facility provides scheduled airframe inspection and repair services as well as avionics services and installations.  The facility has three state-of-the-art test cells for testing of the TFE731, TPE331 and GTCP 36-100/150 APU’s. They are an authorized service center for Bombardier Challenger 600 series, Dassault Falcon Jet all models, Honeywell TFE731, TPE311, GTCP 36-100/150 APU’s and the HTF7000 engines. The facility is also an authorized service facility for the Bombardier Challenger 600 series aircraft, Embraer Legacy 450/500/600 and 650 series and all models of the Dassault Falcon aircraft . They also performs major maintenance, inspections and repairs on all Hawker, Learjet, and Westwind series of aircraft.
