Perform work on assigned aircraft or parts in the mechanical functions. Tasks include fabrication, repair, and installation of aircraft parts, maintenance and repair of helicopters and support of helicopter specific programs.
This assignment is expected to be approximately 6+ months in duration.
Perform fabrication, assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment, and alignment of parts and components. Perform work from three dimensional blueprints, sketches, diagrams, technical manuals, work orders, inspection reports, and other similar documentation. Conduct functional check of systems for proper function. Perform normal troubleshooting to diagnose malfunction or failures on the following aircraft systems: aircraft equipment furnishings, fire protection, fuel system, hydraulics, landing gear, doors, fuselage, stabilizer, rotor systems, power plant and engine controls.
Minimum of six years related experience required
UH-72 experience preferred
Requires ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to travel away from facility to carry out functions of position. Requires use of computer.
