Applies advanced technical skills and knowledge to fabricate major custom cabinetry assemblies and
related equipment for complex aircraft interior systems using metallic and non-metallic material.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Performs tasks that are moderate to complex requiring experience and judgment to complete. Works
under limited supervision and determines plans and actions from standard procedural alternatives.
Fabricates major assemblies including cabinets, lavatories, bars, sinks and other like items of complete
complex aircraft interior systems. These interior systems are moderate to complex requiring experience
and judgment to determine plans and action from standard procedural alternatives. Works
independently and determines own priorities.
Reviews work orders to insure parts and prints are available. Studies blueprints or drawings of articles
to be constructed or repaired, and plans sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed.
Marks outline or dimensions of parts on metallic or non-metallic material. Matches materials for color,
grain, or texture.
Sets up and operates variety of standard and special equipment and uses various hand tools to
fabricate, rework and repair major assemblies of complex aircraft interior systems. Tools include, but
not limited to, power tools, table saw, router, drill, sander, planer, and shaper.
Cuts material to close tolerances according to blueprints. Trims component parts of joints to ensure
snug fit. Bores holes for insertion of screws or dowels or applies adhesive and structural glues and
clamps parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit.
Sands and scrapes surfaces and joints of articles to prepare articles for finishing. Installs hardware such
as hinges, catches, and drawer pulls.
Performs repair cabinetry and related equipment of aircraft interior systems at the same level of
May be assigned to provide leadership to and instruct, train and otherwise assist other Stakeholders in
the performance of their duties. Assist with Stakeholder evaluations as required.
Understands and complies with all plant safety requirements for safe work practices as stated in
applicable Material Safety Data Sheets and plant safety rules. Maintains the product and work area
clean and free from debris.
