Job Duties

We are seeking experienced Avionics Technicians to support maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification activities on commercial aircraft. This position involves working on a variety of aircraft platforms including DC9, Boeing 727, 737, 757, and 767 aircraft. Technicians will perform avionics system repairs, installations, and modifications in a heavy maintenance environment.

This is a great opportunity for candidates with strong troubleshooting skills and experience interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, modification, removal, and installation of aircraft avionics systems
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Conduct avionics repairs and system modifications on commercial aircraft
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and avionics system discrepancies efficiently and accurately
  • Support heavy maintenance and modification operations in compliance with FAA regulations
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety and quality standards
  • Travel as needed to support off-site maintenance activities

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • FCC License required
  • Minimum 2 years of avionics experience in a heavy aircraft maintenance or modification environment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience removing, modifying, and installing aircraft avionics systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair avionics equipment and electrical systems using schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Basic understanding of FAA regulations related to CFR Part 145 repair station operations
  • Must provide own tools
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a FAR Part 145 Repair Station
  • Graduate of an electronics principles course or equivalent military training
  • Experience troubleshooting and modifying Boeing 737, 757, and 767 aircraft systems
  • Four or more years of aircraft systems troubleshooting and modification experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to work at heights up to 80 feet
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work in tight or confined spaces while using respiratory equipment
  • Frequent bending, crawling, twisting, and maintaining physically demanding positions for extended periods
  • Good hand-eye coordination and clear field of vision

  • Technicians will work in a fast-paced aircraft maintenance environment supporting commercial aircraft maintenance and modification operations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential to meet operational and travel requirements.

Facility Description

Client in Wilmington, OH is a four hangar facility with 315,000 sq. ft. located at a CAT III classified airport. Located on site in Wilmington, is a 100,000 sq. ft. Component Repair/Overhaul facility that provides 12,000+ line item repair capability including composites, avionics, wheels, brakes, wire-harness, paint, and heat treat capabilities. This client's customers receive the support of a Manufacturing division that produces repair parts per FAR 121, replacement part manufacturing per OEM requirements and owner operator parts. Through Reverse Engineering, Client is able to manufacture parts with our Quick Turn Manufacturing to meet customer and maintenance requirements. Material Services is a 40,000 sq. ft. facility marketing parts domestically and internationally.
